Losing just 10% of your weight can significantly help to increase your health and well being. It doesn’t sound like a lot, and most people when they start a weight loss regime set themselves an overall unrealistic target of e.g. 4 stones, then see it as a huge and unachievable goal.
By losing just 10% of weight you will
- Decrease points on your BMI scale and get you nearer to a healthy weight range for your height.
- Lower cholesterol and reduce blood pressure. High cholesterol and elevated blood pressure are two major risk factors for heart disease
- Lower risk of type 2 diabetes. If you’re overweight, you’re at increased risk for type 2 diabetes, which means your body can’t make enough, or properly use, insulin, a hormone that helps convert food to usable energy
- You will look and feel better!
- Less pain associated with joint disease, arthritis and lower back pain
- Decreased risk of breast and colon cancer
- Much, much more energy!
Losing just 10% means;
- If you’re 20 stone – 2 stones is 10% off
- If you’re 15 stone – just 1.5 stones is 10% off
- If you’re 12 stones – that’s just over a stone off to achieve a 10% loss
